brenda and james | married

Venue: Rock Spring Ridge Country Club
DJ: David’s DJ Service
Flowers: Claudia’s Flowers in Mount Dora

One my good friends, Esty, called me and asked me if I would join her at her friend’s wedding to shoot. Having nothing going on that day, I said sure. Why not? Well, I found out that Brenda and James were already married, however, their initial ceremony was just amongst family. (I haven’t used the word “amongst” in a while, sounds weird.) They wanted to retake their vows and celebrate with family and close friends. So, they held an intimate affair at the Rock Spring Ridge Country Club and I tagged along with my photographer buddy Esty to take a few shots and hang out with some really cool people. James is active in the military and I just felt so proud to be a part of their special day. It was very special (not to mention fun) complete with a few rising rock stars. It’s been a while since I’ve been a “second shooter” but Esty and I are not only friends, we often work together and we just have this awesome connection that’s hard to find.

It was an overcast day with the sun peeking in and out of the clouds but we were really grateful we didn’t get rained out. The pretty golf course offered great shaded areas and we took advantage of that big diffuser in the sky.

Ok, this shot is a little cheesy, I know. We called the girls over for their pictures and voila.

The girls had the giggles. They were adorable.

What’s a reception without a liquor bar?

Since they were technically already married, the ceremony was quick. The funny thing is, they looked like it was for the first time. It’s in the eyes and the facial expressions. I guess it always is. That’s one reason why I love shooting weddings so much.
