The one thing my family and I have in common is that we don’t like being on the other side of the camera. When it comes to taking their pictures, I know I’m on borrowed time. When we got together, I thought, “I’m a photographer, and yet, I have very little pictures of my family!” So, when we decided to stroll through downtown Deland before having dinner at my favorite restaurant, the Cress, I grabbed my trusty camera. So this is where the tree comes in. The dialogue went something like this:
Family: Oh, this is a nice spot. Here Deb, shoot away.
Me: You can’t stand there because it’ll look like a tree is growing out of your head.
Family: Oh for crying out loud, who cares? Just take the darn picture.
Me: Ok, how about standing behind the tree or better yet, let’s go over here and…….
Family: Are you finished? Let’s go shopping.
I can’t help but smile when I think back to that family discourse and how it’s the little things like that that make my family so endearing. As the years roll by, I know that life passes very quickly. At the end of it all, it’s all about our families. Yes, even our furry ones!
My Sister Loves to Shop. I visit a mall only when it’s necessary. I should probably go more often but I would rather be online with B&H Photo!
I thought these boots were cool!
When I see shiney things like this, my mind always wanders over to fashion photography. Hmmmm
Cheers from the Elusive Grape. Man, I love that place!
Finally, we arrive at the best restaurant in Deland. This place is fantastic. Yep, it’s the Cress! Mmmmmm.
Studying the menu. Intensely. I mean, that’s really some serious stuff going on there. That’s what that place will do to you! Total awesomeness….
Oh goody….the food is here!
